The Bandra court has accepted CBI’s request to shift the hearing on the closure report in Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. The fake prescription case against his sisters will now be heard at Esplanade Court on July 3.

The Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Bandra has granted the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) permission to transfer the hearing of the closure report concerning the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Consequently, the case linked to the alleged fake medical prescription provided to Sushant by his sisters will now be addressed at the Esplanade Court on July 3.
This case has been ongoing since Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic death on June 14, 2020, which was largely reported as a suicide.
It gathered national attention and caused considerable speculation and discussion across social media and news outlets.
After many people raised their voices and demanded a proper investigation, the CBI took over the case. Before that, Mumbai Police had registered an FIR against Sushant’s sisters, Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh, after getting a complaint from Rhea Chakraborty, who was Sushant’s girlfriend at the time of his death.
Rhea Chakraborty alleged that Sushant’s sister, Priyanka Singh, assisted in arranging a “fake medical prescription” for him just days before his death. In her complaint, she stated that this was done without proper medical consultation and involved a Delhi-based doctor prescribing psychotropic medications via WhatsApp.
The case was previously heard in Bandra, where the CBI had submitted a closure report indicating that no criminal activity was identified in the sisters’ actions.
Recently, the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate Court approved the CBI’s request to transfer the case. Thus, the matter regarding the alleged fake prescription will no longer be heard in Bandra and will instead be taken up at the Esplanade Court on July 3.
Previously, the CBI had filed a closure report, stating that “no substantial evidence was found to pursue criminal charges” in this case. The agency argued that it was inappropriate to continue the case in the Bandra court, leading to the request for the transfer, which the court granted.
At this time, there have been no further comments from the CBI, the Rajput family, or Rhea Chakraborty concerning the court’s recent ruling.
The next hearing is scheduled for next month at the newly designated court.
