BREAKING|| “Supreme Court Registry to Close on 2nd and 4th Saturdays”: Big Announcement by CJI

Today, On, 16th July, Chief Justice announced that the Supreme Court registry will be closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. This new schedule aims to provide more consistent breaks for the court staff.

New Delhi: Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud made a significant announcement at the Supreme Court‘s annual sports and cultural event, declaring that employees of the registry will have the second and fourth Saturdays off.

This change, set to begin on August 1, affects over 2,000 staff members of the Supreme Court registry.

Chief Justice Chandrachud highlighted the benefit for employees who travel long distances, saying,

“Many employees have to come from far-off places, everyone will get off on the second and fourth Saturdays.”

The auditorium erupted in applause, but the Chief Justice added a condition,

“During these off days, you should take care of the family, and at the same time take time for yourself, do yoga, cycling, and meditation.”

BA Rao, President of the Supreme Court Employees Welfare Association, expressed gratitude to the Chief Justice for his effective measures for the employees’ welfare.

During the prize distribution ceremony, the Chief Justice humorously noted that the Supreme Court registry boasts its own Rohit Sharma, referencing the captain of one of the cricket teams in the registry, who shares his name with India’s T-20 World Cup-winning captain. The Chief Justice presented an award to this Rohit Sharma.

For the first time, employees with disabilities participated in several events. The Chief Justice also noted with enthusiasm that this year, men actively engaged in ‘Antakshari’ and cooking competitions, while women triumphed in cricket, football, marathon, and other events.

Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud announced that the Supreme Court approached the Indian Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT) to design new uniforms for all levels of the Supreme Court Registry, from entry-level staff to the Secretary-General.

Alongside Chief Justice Chandrachud, Justices Sanjeev Khanna, BR Gavai, Suryakant, PS Narasimha, KV Vishwanathan, Ahsanuddin Amanullah, and PB Varale were also in attendance at the event.
