The RSS has invited Chief Justice of India BR Gavai’s mother, Dr Kamaltai Gavai, as the chief guest at its Vijayadashami and centenary event in Amravati on October 5. Senior leader J Nanda Kumar will be the main speaker, with Mohan Bhagwat’s annual address kicking off the celebrations.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has invited the mother of Chief Justice of India (CJI) B R Gavai to be the chief guest at its upcoming Vijayadashami and centenary celebrations in Amravati district, Maharashtra.

According to reports, the CJI’s mother, Dr. Kamaltai Gavai, has been invited to attend the programme that will take place on October 5 at Srimati Narsamma Mahavidyalaya Maidan in the Kiran Nagar area of Amravati. The event is being organised by the RSS Amravati Mahanagar unit.

Sources close to Dr. Kamaltai Gavai’s family have confirmed the news, stating that

“she has received the invitation.”

At this function, senior RSS leader J Nanda Kumar will participate as the main speaker. The RSS, which was founded in 1925 on Vijayadashami, is beginning its centenary year celebrations this October.

As part of its nationwide centenary plans, the RSS has announced a series of events. These include more than one lakh ‘Hindu Sammelans’ and thousands of symposiums across different parts of the country.

The celebrations will start with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s annual Vijayadashami address at the organisation’s Nagpur headquarters on October 2.

The organisation has also launched a large-scale outreach campaign. As part of this,

“the RSS has also decided to conduct a door-to-door contact programme across the country.”
