“Sonam Raghuvanshi has destroyed seven families. Strictest action should be taken against her. All the members of the family should also be interrogated properly.”
Echoing these sentiments, Raja’s father Ashok Raghuvanshi also spoke out in support of the Meghalaya Police and requested that Sonam’s family apologise to them.
he said emotionally,
“They (Sonam’s family) should apologise to the Meghalaya Police. They have insulted the Meghalaya Police. I have faith in the Meghalaya Police. They have done a very good job. I also apologise to the Meghalaya Police for the insult they suffered. Meghalaya Police found my son, although he was dead. A complete inquiry should be done and the culprits must be hanged,”
Raja’s mother, devastated by her son’s murder, also criticised Sonam, blaming her for casting a dark shadow over their family and accusing her of being involved in “black magic” and a “dark spell.”
Earlier, Meghalaya Minister Alexander Laloo Hek demanded a public apology from the families of both Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi.
The Minister stated that the state’s image had been unfairly damaged and warned of legal consequences if an apology was not issued.

“We are thankful to the Meghalaya Police for their crackdown and complete investigation within seven days. Now we are seeking an apology from the families of Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi for tarnishing the image of Meghalaya and its people. Sonam will be brought to Shillong… The people of Meghalaya demand an apology; otherwise, we will file a defamation case against them,”
The murder investigation has advanced significantly. The Meghalaya Police acted swiftly and arrested Sonam Raghuvanshi along with her alleged accomplices from different states.

Background Of the Case
The horrifying case began when Raja and his wife Sonam went missing during their honeymoon trip to Sohra in Meghalaya on May 23.

This came after the Meghalaya Police brought Sonam from Uttar Pradesh late Tuesday night under transit remand. Her four accomplices were brought from Madhya Pradesh to Shillong the following day.
Speaking about the progress in the investigation, East Khasi Hills District Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem confirmed the development.
he said,
