Music composer Palash Muchhal has filed a Rs 10 crore defamation case against Marathi actor Vidnyan Mane for allegedly making false cheating and fraud allegations. The legal notice was sent after Mane accused Muchhal of financial fraud and personal misconduct.
Music composer and singer Palash Muchhal is once again in the news after fresh allegations were made against him. Recently, Palash was in the spotlight after reports about his wedding with Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana being called off.
Now, a new controversy has surfaced involving Marathi actor and producer Vidnyan Mane, who has accused Palash of cheating him of Rs 40 lakh and also made personal allegations related to Smriti. In response, Palash has decided to take legal action and has filed a defamation case of Rs 10 crore.
According to reports, Palash has sent a legal defamation notice against Vidnyan Mane for making what he described as “false” and “outrageous” allegations. Palash shared an official statement on his Instagram account on Saturday evening, where he wrote,
“A legal notice of defamation of Rs 10 crore has been sent by my lawyer Shreyansh Mithare to Sangli based Vidnyan Mane for his false, outrageous and highly defamatory accusations made with the deliberate intent to malign my reputation and character.”
The controversy began a few days ago when news agency Press Trust of India reported that 34-year-old Vidnyan Mane had approached the police in Sangli district of Maharashtra. Mane alleged that Palash cheated him of Rs 40 lakh in connection with a film project. As of now, no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in the matter.
As per the complaint given by Mane, he met Palash in Sangli on December 5, 2023. During their meeting, Mane reportedly expressed interest in investing money in film production. Palash allegedly told him that he could invest in his upcoming project titled Nazaria as a producer.

Mane claimed that Palash assured him that once the film was released on OTT platforms, he would earn a profit of Rs 12 lakh on an investment of Rs 25 lakh. Along with this, Palash also allegedly offered Mane a role in the film.
The complaint further stated that the two met again on two occasions after their first meeting. Between these meetings, Mane claimed that he gave a total amount of Rs 40 lakh to Palash by March 2025.
However, according to Mane, the film project was never completed. When he later asked for his money to be returned, he allegedly received no response from Palash. Due to this, Mane approached the Sangli police seeking action in the matter.

Apart from the financial allegations, Mane also accused Palash of being unfaithful to Smriti Mandhana before their marriage was called off. These personal allegations further added to the controversy and brought significant public attention to the dispute.
Following these developments, Palash has strongly denied all allegations and has chosen to defend his reputation through legal means. By sending the ₹10 crore defamation notice, he has made it clear that he considers the accusations to be damaging to his image and career, and intends to contest them firmly through the legal process.
