The 4th National Lok Adalat of 2024 successfully resolved 1.45 crore cases, promoting swift and cost-effective justice. This initiative has played a crucial role in reducing pendency while ensuring accessible legal remedies for all. By addressing a vast number of disputes, it has strengthened trust in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

Lok Adalat, an important mechanism for facilitating amicable settlements outside the traditional judicial framework, is increasingly enhancing access to justice for all.
Under the guidance of Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Chief Justice of India , along with Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai, Judge of the Supreme Court and Executive Chairman, the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) successfully conducted the 4th National Lok Adalat of 2024.

This nationwide initiative, covering 36 States and Union Territories, has significantly alleviated the pressure on formal courts and encouraged alternative dispute resolution methods.
In Rajasthan, the Lok Adalat is scheduled for December 21 and 22, following the conclusion of the District Bar Associations’ election process. As of 7:00 PM today, an impressive total of 1.45 crore (14,547,595) cases have been resolved in this edition of the National Lok Adalat. Among these, 1.21 crore (12,178,509) were pre-litigation cases, while 23.69 lakh (2,369,086) were pending cases.
The disputes addressed ranged from criminal offenses and plea bargaining to motor accident claims, labor and matrimonial issues, and consumer matters. The total settlement amount has reached approximately Rs. 7,462.54 crores.
This remarkable achievement highlights the increasing public confidence in Lok Adalats and their significant role in enhancing access to justice, particularly for marginalized communities.

As NALSA continues its initiatives, it remains dedicated to organizing more Lok Adalats and promoting alternative dispute resolution throughout the country.
