Police have arrested Sonam Raghuvanshi for allegedly killing her husband Raja Raghuvanshi while the couple was on their honeymoon in Meghalaya.

On Tuesday, Meghalaya Minister Alexander Laloo Hek demanded that the families of both Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raja Raghuvanshi must apologise publicly for allegedly defaming the image of Meghalaya and its people in the shocking honeymoon murder case. The minister also warned of taking legal action if the families fail to do so.

Police have arrested Sonam Raghuvanshi for allegedly killing her husband Raja Raghuvanshi while the couple was on their honeymoon in Meghalaya.

Speaking to the media, Minister Hek praised the efforts of the Meghalaya Police in solving the case.

He said, “We are thankful to the Meghalaya police for the breakthroughs in the ongoing investigation of the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case.”

However, he insisted that both the victim’s and accused’s families must say sorry for the harm caused to the state’s reputation.

He issued a strict warning: “Now we are seeking an apology from Sonam and Raja Raghuvanshi’s families for tarnishing the image of Meghalaya and its people. We will file a case of defamation if they don’t comply,” he was quoted as saying by ANI.

He further clarified that the accused would be brought back to Meghalaya since the crime occurred in the state.

He added, “The accused will be brought here since the incident took place in the state. We do not have any issue if they want to hand over the case to the state police, central police or the probe agency, but the truth has already prevailed.”
