Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni has returned to India after 24 years, receiving a clean chit in a high-profile drug haul case. Expressing her emotions, she shared a heartfelt video reflecting on her journey and the long legal battle. Kulkarni had faced allegations in a massive drug trafficking case but was recently exonerated. Her return marks a significant moment in her life and career.

Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni made an emotional return to India after 24 years, following a significant legal victory.

She received a clean chit from the Bombay High Court concerning the Rs. 2,000 crore drug haul case registered in Thane in 2016.

Mamta’s name emerged in this high-profile drug case eight years ago, which led to a prolonged legal battle that kept her away from India. Taking to Instagram, she shared a heartfelt video, stating,

“Hey guys, this is Mamta Kulkarni. I just returned to India, Bombay, ‘Aamchi Mumbai’ after 25 years. I’m really nostalgic that I left India in 2000 and now, exactly in 2024, I’m back. I’m overwhelmed and emotional; I don’t know how to express it. Before the flight landed, I looked out the window and saw my country from above for almost 25 years. I became emotional and had tears in my eyes. As soon as I stepped out of Mumbai International Airport, I was extremely overwhelmed.”

Once a leading actress of the ’90s, Mamta has been living abroad since the legal proceedings began. She is known for her hit films including Karan Arjun, Baazi, Ram Lakhan, Waqt Hamara Hai, Krantiveer, Sabse Bada Khiladi, Andolan, and China Gate. Her return has generated excitement among fans eager to see her back on screen, although she has not disclosed the reasons for her return to India.

Among her notable films, Karan Arjun (1995), which features Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Kajol, was re-released in Hindi cinema on November 22.

The film tells the story of two brothers who seek revenge against their uncle for their father’s murder but are killed and reincarnated to fulfill their vengeance.

In 2016, Mamta was reportedly named by the Thane Police as one of the accused in a case involving the supply of ephedrine for the illicit manufacture of methamphetamine, part of a Rs.2,000 crore international drug racket linked to gangster activities. It was reported that she, along with her partner Vicky Goswami and other co-accused, attended a meeting of this international drug ring in Kenya in January 2016.
