Uttar Pradesh: In a very sad incident from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, a 23-year-old law student took her own life by suicide. Before dying, she wrote a heartbreaking message on the mirror of her room with lipstick.

The message said:

“I QUIT.”

This shocking event happened on the morning of April 9, just after she came back from the house of a local dental doctor. According to her family, she was in a relationship with this doctor, and they are now blaming him and his relatives for mentally harassing her, which they say forced her to take this extreme step.

The young woman lived in the Imamwada area of Gadhia Phatak, Jhansi. Her family said she had met the doctor, named Asad, about four to five months ago while she was getting dental treatment. During this time, they became close and started a relationship. Her family also claimed that the doctor had promised to marry her.

But recently, things changed when he got engaged to another girl. This, they say, caused a lot of stress and emotional pain for the law student.

Her mother, while crying, told reporters:

“She was called to their house that morning. The whole family was there. They locked her in a room, took away her mobile phone and vehicle keys, and even assaulted her.”

The mother further said that the girl’s father and grandfather were also called to the same place. When they met her, she was extremely upset and crying a lot.

Her mother said:

“Later, they called her father and grandfather as well. When they met her, she was crying uncontrollably. He had promised to marry her, but instead got engaged elsewhere. This wasn’t the first time-he has ruined the lives of other girls too.”

She also claimed that during the doctor’s engagement ceremony, another girl created a scene and accused him of the same kind of behavior.

The mother said:

“He misled my daughter under the pretence of treatment. The moment she returned home from his place, she went into her room and killed herself. She wrote ‘I QUIT’ on the mirror before dying.”

The girl’s grandfather also spoke about what happened.

He said:

“We were called to the clinic where several people, including women, were surrounding her. We didn’t realize what was happening. The next morning, when we entered her room, she was hanging. It was a complete shock.”

After the incident, one of the neighbours informed the police. The team from Premnagar police station reached the house, brought the body down, and sent it for a postmortem examination.

Circle Officer Sadar, Laxmikant Gautam, confirmed the police action.

He said:

“On April 9, we received information from a local resident that a girl in his neighbourhood had died by suicide. Our team reached the spot immediately and initiated necessary proceedings. The body has been sent for postmortem and further investigation is underway.”

This heartbreaking case has raised serious concerns about mental health and emotional abuse in relationships. The police are now looking into the matter, and the girl’s family is demanding justice.
