BREAKING | Kapil Sibal Says Pahalgam Attack Is Pakistan-Sponsored, Refers to Pakistan Army Chief’s “Jugular Vein” Remark

NEW DELHI: Senior Supreme Court advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, calling it a clear case of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.

In a powerful statement, he referred to a recent remark made by Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir, linking it directly to the attack.

Kapil Sibal quoted General Munir’s words, saying:

“It will be our jugular vein, we will not forget it, we will not leave our Kashmiri brothers in their historical struggle”,

and pointed out how this comment was made just a week before the terrorist incident. According to Sibal, the timing and planning of the attack show clear signs of state involvement and strategic execution.

He said,

“So obviously this is state sponsored, just a week ago it happened (was said). It’s a very well-thought out, well planned terrorist attack.”

He further explained that the location of the attack is significant and shows the attackers’ knowledge and planning.

“Because the valley is just half an hour away from Pahalgam, it is a high security zone, because there is Amarnath shrine there, lot of security forces there, those who attacked knew, you can’t reach the valley except on ponies,”

-he said.

Sibal also pointed out the suspected route used by the attackers, indicating possible infiltration through regions that have previously been under the scanner.

“It was alleged that they came from Kishtwar, through Kokernag, and then came here, but certainly, it connects Pakistan to it…”

-he added.

In his strong message to the Indian government, Sibal made a big demand:

“I would urge the Home Minister to include Pakistan as terrorist organisation. We should file prosecution in international criminal court, urge in international community to boycott Pakistan.”

This statement from a senior legal expert and politician adds weight to the concerns over cross-border terrorism and raises important questions about international action and diplomatic response. His remarks are expected to start discussions not only within India but also at the global level about the role of state actors in terrorism.
