The oath of office was administered by Orissa High Court Chief Justice Harish Tandon. Justice Shripad has been transferred from the Karnataka High Court to the Orissa High Court.

Cuttack, Odisha – Justice Dixit Krishna Shripad officially joined the Orissa High Court as a judge on Monday. The swearing-in ceremony was held at the court premises in Cuttack.

The oath of office was administered by Orissa High Court Chief Justice Harish Tandon. Justice Shripad has been transferred from the Karnataka High Court to the Orissa High Court, with the transfer order taking effect from May 1.
Justice Shripad began his legal career more than three decades ago. He enrolled as an advocate in July 1989 and practised law in both the Karnataka and Madras High Courts.

According to official sources, “He was appointed as the senior standing counsel for the Election Commission of India and as an additional central government standing counsel in 1999.”
Over the years, Justice Shripad has handled a wide variety of cases for several major institutions. He has worked as standing counsel for multiple organisations including the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Competition Commission of India, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, and the National Institute of Unani Medicines.
In 2014, he was appointed as the Assistant Solicitor General of India, a post that required him to represent the Central Government in many key legal matters. He continued to serve in that role until his appointment as a judge.
Justice Shripad was elevated to the position of judge in the Karnataka High Court on February 14, 2018, and now begins a new chapter as a judge of the Orissa High Court.
