The Goa Police has transferred the alleged sexual exploitation case involving a BJP councilor’s son to the Crime Branch for detailed investigation. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal strongly criticized the BJP, demanding strict punishment and justice for the minor victims.

Panaji: The investigation into an alleged sexual exploitation case involving minor girls in Goa has now been handed over to the Crime Branch, a senior Goa Police official said on Tuesday. The case has become very serious as the accused is the son of a BJP councilor and has been arrested under strict child protection laws.

According to the police, none of the victims have yet come forward to file an official complaint. However, the Curchorem Crime Branch has stated that they will reach out to the victims and provide necessary support so that statements can be recorded and justice can be ensured.

The case was initially registered by the Curchorem Police in Kushavati district. On March 22, the police arrested Soham Naik (20), who is the son of local councilor Sushant Naik. He has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Goa Children’s Act. He is accused of allegedly recording obscene videos of minor girls and circulating them, and also blackmailing the victims over a period of time.

The POCSO Act is a stringent law meant to protect children from sexual offences, and it includes strict punishment for those involved in sexual exploitation, child pornography, and blackmail of minors. The Goa Children’s Act also provides strong legal protection to children and ensures strict action in cases involving abuse or exploitation of minors.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal reacted strongly to the incident and criticized the ruling party.

He posted on X and said,

“What kind of demons are there in the BJP? In Goa, an extremely repulsive case has come to light where the son of a BJP councilor has been sexually exploiting 30 minor girls for three years, filming them, and blackmailing them. The BJP has turned people’s lives in Goa into hell. Everyone is living under the shadow of fear,”

he said.

“Protecting such monsters is fatal for society. The guilty must receive the harshest possible punishment, and the victims must get justice. No demon should even think of doing this again,”

the former Delhi chief minister said.

The police have said that the investigation is ongoing and more evidence is being collected, including digital evidence related to the alleged videos. Officials have also indicated that more charges may be added depending on the findings of the Crime Branch investigation.

This case has raised serious concerns about the safety of minor girls and the misuse of technology for exploitation and blackmail. Legal experts say that offences involving minors, obscene videos, and blackmail can lead to very severe punishment under Indian law, including long-term imprisonment.

The authorities have assured that the matter will be investigated properly and strict action will be taken as per law. The focus of the investigation will also be on identifying all victims, ensuring their safety, and taking legal action against anyone else involved in the case.
