After the Enforcement Directorate searched I-PAC’s office and its director’s residence in Kolkata, the political consultancy said it fully cooperated with the probe. I-PAC also expressed concern over the “unsettling precedent” while reaffirming its commitment to the law.
A day after the Enforcement Directorate carried out searches at the office of the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) and at the residence of its Director Pratik Jain in Kolkata in connection with a money laundering case, I-PAC on Friday issued a detailed public statement saying that it has fully cooperated with the investigating agency and will continue to do so in accordance with law.
In a statement shared on its official X handle, I-PAC acknowledged the searches and described the development as deeply troubling for a professional organisation that has been working in the political consulting space for over a decade.
The organisation said,
“Yesterday, officials from the Enforcement Directorate carried out searches at the I-PAC office and at the residence of our Director, Pratik Jain, in Kolkata. It was a difficult and unfortunate day for a professional organisation like I-PAC.”
The political consultancy firm further expressed concern over the implications of such action, stating,
“We believe this raises serious concerns and sets an unsettling precedent. Regardless, we have extended full cooperation and will continue to do so as required, engaging with the process in complete accordance and respect for the law.”
Emphasising its internal values and work culture, I-PAC reiterated that it has always maintained high professional standards and ethical conduct in its operations.
The statement said,
“We have always upheld the highest standards of professional integrity in all that we do. Despite what transpired yesterday, we remain fully committed to continuing our work unfazed and unperturbed, with consistency and accountability guided by the same purpose that has shaped us from the start.”
I-PAC also used the statement to underline its non-partisan nature and its role as a professional political consulting organisation. It clarified that it does not contest elections or hold political office, and that its work is strictly limited to advisory and consulting services.
Highlighting its broad engagement across the political spectrum, the organisation said it has worked with several political parties across ideologies and regions, including the Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, Trinamool Congress, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, YSR Congress Party, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now BRS), Janata Dal (United), and the Shiv Sena.
Reiterating this position, I-PAC stated,
“We do not contest elections or hold political office. Our role is limited to transparent and professional political consulting, uninfluenced by differences in political ideology.”
The searches by the Enforcement Directorate and I-PAC’s response come amid growing political and legal scrutiny around the matter, with the organisation maintaining that it will continue to cooperate with the investigation while carrying on its professional work within the framework of law.
