CJI B.R. Gavai & All Supreme Court Judges on Three-Day Trip to Ranthambore

NEW DELHI: Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai, along with all the judges of the Supreme Court of India and their families, have embarked on a three-day private trip to Ranthambore, Rajasthan. The excursion, which began on Friday and will continue through Sunday, marks the first time that all Supreme Court judges are visiting together in such a setting.

Although officially described as a private vacation, many legal analysts speculate that the judges may also use this opportunity to discuss important judicial matters in an informal and relaxed environment away from Delhi. While no official statements have been issued by the Supreme Court, Rajasthan High Court, or the State Government, the extensive preparations in Ranthambore reflect the significance of this gathering.

The Rajasthan High Court management, the State Government, and the district administration of Sawai Madhopur have been actively involved in making arrangements for the judges. Security has been tightened across the town and surrounding areas to ensure the smooth conduct of the trip.

The credit for organizing this landmark visit goes to Chief Justice B.R. Gavai, who assumed office as the 52nd Chief Justice of India on May 14, 2025.

Why Ranthambore?

Ranthambore, located in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, is renowned for its tiger reserve, rich wildlife, and the historic Ranthambore Fort. The picturesque destination provides an ideal backdrop for both leisure and informal discussions.

For the Supreme Court judges, this trip serves a dual purpose: a chance to relax with their families amidst nature and an opportunity to exchange ideas on judicial matters in a casual setting.
