Political War | "Will Drag You To Court": BRS President KTR Warns CM Revanth Reddy Over Drug Allegations

TELANGANA: Telangana’s political landscape has taken a sharp turn toward controversy as a heated verbal clash unfolds between Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

At the center of this storm are sensational allegations linking KTR to a drug case, accusations that have prompted him to vow legal action in response.

During an informal media interaction in New Delhi, CM Revanth Reddy alleged that KTR had consumed drugs with one “Kedar” in Dubai, adding that Kedar died as a result of a drug cocktail. The Chief Minister even claimed possession of a report on Kedar’s death and expressed willingness to present it in the Assembly.

Revanth Reddy further taunted the BRS leadership, challenging former CM and BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) to a debate but made it clear that he wouldn’t debate KTR. He also alleged that KTR had earlier obtained a stay from the High Court to avoid investigation in a drug-related case.

KTR responded with a strongly worded response. Taking to the social media platform X, he slammed the CM for making what he termed “slanderous” and “baseless” accusations. He posted,

“Revanth Reddy, I will drag you to the courts and make you pay for every slanderous statement of yours. Apologise or face the consequences”.

He demanded that the CM produce credible evidence to substantiate the drug allegations or admit to spinning a false narrative for political mileage.

KTR questioned the timing and context of the statements,

“You travel all the way to Delhi to throw filth at me in the name of chitchats… You hide like the puny man you are and then resort to character assassination.”

KTR also claimed that he had maintained silence until now out of respect for the Chief Minister’s office, but vowed to no longer tolerate what he described as “vulgar” attacks.

This public dispute is not just about personal allegations; it reveals deeper tensions in Telangana’s political landscape. Revanth Reddy’s remarks also referred to alleged internal discord within the BRS. He claimed that KTR was seeking the post of Leader of the Opposition, but that KCR was unwilling to hand it over. He even stated that K. Kavitha, KCR’s daughter, was unwilling to accept KTR’s leadership.

BRS leaders, on their part, accused the CM of compromising Telangana’s interests by meeting with Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Paatil in Delhi. Revanth dismissed the criticism, calling it a distraction from the real issues facing the BRS internally.
