JAMMU: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, during his visit to Jammu on Tuesday, traffic officials seized his car for violating legal restrictions on tinted windows. The incident occurred while the actor was in the city for a public event.
According to authorities, the vehicle, brought in for the event, had black-tinted windows darker than the permissible limit under the Motor Vehicles Act. The car was flagged during a routine Naka inspection.

SSP Traffic Jammu City, Farooq Kaiser, stated,
“The law is the same for all. The car was found with tinted glasses beyond the permissible limit during our routine naka. The vehicle has been impounded, and appropriate action will follow.”
Traffic Police officials stressed that road safety and visibility laws apply equally, regardless of a person’s celebrity status. They warned that any vehicle featuring unauthorised alterations, including excessive window tints, could be seized or fined until brought into compliance.
Under existing rules, the car can only be released once the illegal tint is removed and applicable fines are paid by the owner or their authorised representative.
Despite the traffic-related setback, Akshay Kumar’s scheduled appearance at the event went ahead without disruption. The organisers arranged an alternate transport for the actor, ensuring that the program continued smoothly.
Authorities took this opportunity to urge motorists to follow legal tint limits and warned that strict checks and penalties will continue.
On the professional front, Akshay is gearing up for the release of Jolly LLB 3, co-starring Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla. The film’s teaser, launched on Tuesday, has already created a buzz online, with fans eagerly awaiting the trademark banter between Akshay and Arshad.
