Today, On 12th July, AAP celebrates the bail granted to Delhi CM, acknowledging that it’s only a matter of time before Kejriwal is released from jail. The party members expressed relief and joy over the court’s decision, emphasizing their continued support for Kejriwal.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court granted interim bail to the Chief Minister today in the now-scrapped policy case registered by the Enforcement Directorate. However, the CM will remain in jail due to his arrest by the CBI in the same matter.

Advocate Vivek Jain, counsel for Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, expressed his joy on the social media platform X, stated,

“The Supreme Court was dealing with numerous legal issues. One significant issue was the necessity.”

Delhi State President and Aam Aadmi Legal Cell Advisor Advocate Sanjeev Nasair also posted on X, expressing gratitude to the Supreme Court, stated,

“Today is a day of great relief. We have maintained this from the very beginning.”

AAP National General Secretary Organisation and MP Sandeep Pathak remarked,

“This is a relief. When they can’t stop this party, they jail all the leaders. In this context, the Supreme Court’s order is very reassuring. I believe that the country’s interest is paramount. It is crucial that a dictator doesn’t try to dismantle a party. Such decisions should be recorded in golden letters in the country’s history.”

Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj added that the government anticipated the SC would grant Kejriwal bail, which is why the CBI arrested him in the same case.

Bharadwaj stated,

“PMLA is a black law. The provisions for bail under this are so stringent that it is nearly impossible to obtain bail. First, the lower court granted him bail, noting ‘ED is acting with bias’ So, today’s Supreme Court bail is significant. The Centre foresaw that the Supreme Court would grant him bail in the ED case. To ensure he remains in jail, the CBI arrested him. The burden of proof lies with the CBI. I believe Arvind Kejriwal will be out of jail soon,”

Meanwhile, the BJP criticized AAP, asserting that the interim bail does not absolve the crime.

BJP Chief Virendraa Sachdeva posted on X,

“This is a matter between the investigation agency and judiciary. Interim bail doesn’t equate to acquittal. Let the final decision come.”

BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat added,

“Interim bail is not a relief from the crime. It allows one to stay out of jail as the case proceeds. It doesn’t imply Kejriwal hasn’t committed a scam or corruption. The Supreme Court may have allowed him to work for the suffering people of Delhi, but it hasn’t acquitted him.”

A bench headed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna referred Kejriwal’s petition challenging his ED arrest to a larger bench. The Supreme Court, in granting interim bail to Kejriwal in the ED case, noted that he has been incarcerated for 90 days and acknowledged his status as an elected leader.

The top court reserved the verdict on Kejriwal’s plea for May 17.

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) five days after a related enforcement by the ED, this time concerning a corruption case linked to the controversial Delhi liquor policy scam. This case continues to unravel layers of alleged maladministration and purported favouritism.
