Mumbai traffic police received a threatening message directed at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, warning of dire consequences if he doesn’t resign within 10 days. This incident, amidst other similar threats against public figures, prompts heightened security measures and investigations, primarily focused on links to organized crime, particularly the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Mumbai: The Mumbai traffic police received a threatening message late Saturday, claiming that if Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath did not resign within 10 days, he would face the same fate as former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was allegedly killed by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in Bandra (East) on October 12. This latest threat has raised security concerns, prompting an immediate investigation by the Mumbai police.

Upon receiving the message on their helpline number, the Worli police launched an extensive probe to identify the individual responsible. An officer stated, “We are scrutinising the call data records and trying to identify the individual.” The authorities are focusing on tracing the unknown sender’s number and any potential connections with recent high-profile threats.

This threat against Yogi Adityanath marks the third recent incident of alarming messages directed at prominent figures, all received through Mumbai’s police helpline. On October 29, the police received a similar threatening message directed at Bollywood actor Salman Khan, accompanied by a demand for Rs 2 crore. Following this, a man from Bandra was arrested in connection with the threat. Shortly after, another message demanded a Rs 5 crore ransom, warning that if Khan failed to comply, his condition could be worse than Siddique’s.

Repeated threats against public figures have heightened police efforts to strengthen security in Mumbai, especially for high-profile individuals. The frequency and severity of these incidents have raised questions about the role of organized crime in such intimidations, particularly involving the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, known for their involvement in various criminal activities.

The Mumbai police have stepped up investigations and are committed to ensuring the safety of those targeted by threats. Public figures and officials have been urged to maintain vigilance, while police focus on developing strategies to curb such criminal activities.

With each new case, authorities are making strides in security measures but remain under pressure to resolve ongoing threats and prevent future occurrences. As the investigation proceeds, the Mumbai police are keen on tracing any links between the recent threats and organized crime networks.
