Television actress Shilpa Shinde is once again in the public eye after comments she made on a recent podcast triggered a major debate. Her remarks related to the long-running Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain! controversy have led a men’s rights organisation to demand legal action against her.
The renewed controversy began after Shilpa discussed her earlier legal dispute with the makers of the popular sitcom during an appearance on a podcast hosted by Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa.
After her statements, a Delhi-based men’s rights group, NCMIndia Council for Men Affairs, urged the Mumbai Police to take action.

The men’s rights organisation has called for Shilpa Shinde’s arrest after she said that the sexual harassment complaint she filed during her Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain! dispute was false.
While many users criticised the actress some calling for strict consequences others argued that the producer should pursue legal remedies for the alleged reputational harm. The latest flare-up is linked to Shilpa’s claim that the sexual harassment complaint she filed years ago against producer Sanjay Kohli was not based on any real misconduct.
During the podcast, she said she filed the case because she felt she had no other option at the time, and later the dispute was resolved through a settlement.
She also stated that the issue was ultimately settled, and after that, her pending payments were cleared. According to Shilpa, relations with the makers have improved over the years, and there is no ongoing hostility between the two sides.
Shilpa Shinde admitted that she filed a sexual harassment case against Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! producer Sanjay Kohli, stating that she did so because she felt she had no other alternative at the time.
During the podcast, she said,
“Nobody knows this, and I’m not afraid of telling the truth. Even today, I will say this because it is a big thing. I filed a sexual harassment case against my producer because I had no other option.”
She further explained that the matter was later settled and that her pending payments were cleared. Shinde also said she felt cornered during the dispute and believed there was no way out.
She added,
“Lying is not easy. A lie is a lie, whether it is small or big. I had told them that if life ever gave me the opportunity, I would confess that it was false,”
Shilpa Shinde had left the show in 2016 amid disagreements with the producers, where she alleged harassment and claimed her dues were not being paid. Nearly a decade later, she returned to the sitcom and said her relationship with the makers had improved substantially over the years.
The original dispute dates back to 2016, when Shilpa left Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain! despite her being one of the show’s most popular faces as Angoori Bhabhi. The fallout escalated into both public and legal conflict: Shilpa accused the makers of unfair treatment and harassment, while the producers claimed she had breached contractual obligations.
The controversy became one of the television industry’s most widely discussed cases and stayed in headlines for months.
More recently, years after the fallout, Shilpa returned to the show, creating a surprising full circle moment in a controversy that once dominated entertainment news.
