The letter outlines that:
The incident involving Senior Advocate Gaurav Bhatia took an unexpected and aggressive turn, as recounted by witnesses. According to reports, Bhatia promptly acceded to a request for adjournment, leading to the matter being duly postponed. However, what followed was a startling display of aggression in the presence of high-ranking judicial officials, including the District and Sessions Judge. A lawyer, in a blatant act of misconduct, behaved aggressively and forcibly snatched Bhatia’s band.
In its communication, the SCBA did not mince words, stating it:
“strongly condemns the unprofessional and illegal act”
that not only targeted an individual but also “brought disrepute to the entire legal fraternity.”
This strong condemnation reflects the Association’s stance on maintaining decorum and ethical standards within the legal profession, emphasizing that such behavior is unacceptable and detrimental to the reputation of the legal community as a whole.
Furthermore, the SCBA has called upon the Executive Committee of the Janpad Dewani and Faujdari Bar Association of Gautam Budh Nagar to take decisive action against the perpetrator.
