“BJP leaders openly threaten opposition members with the statement, ‘Chup ho jaao, warna ED bhej dunga’ (Stay quiet, or else I will send the ED after you). In such a dire situation, Madam Justice, we, the opposition parties, look to the judiciary with hope for respite,” Kavitha stated.

In the letter addressed to Madam Justice, Kavitha remarked
“I have time and again cooperated with both agencies. I have appeared before them four times. I have answered all their questions to the best of my knowledge and given all my bank and business details. I will have fully cooperated with the agencies by submitting all of my mobile phones that the agencies blamed me for destroying. In the last two and a half years of investigation, both agencies conducted multiple raids and physically and mentally harassed, threatened, and arrested many people,” Kavitha alleged in her letter.
“Despite the absence of any evidence, the ED arrested me on March 15, just before the elections, solely based on statements. This arrest took place in direct violation of the undertaking of no coercive action that I had submitted to the Supreme Court,” the letter stated.
Kavitha noted that a majority of the cases pursued by the ED and the CBI are against opposition leaders. Interestingly, she claimed that investigations tend to abruptly halt when the accused individuals join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“Madam Justice, I have done nothing but cooperate with due process and procedure, and I will continue to do so,” the letter affirmed.
Lastly, madam, but the most important aspect of my life, I am a dutiful mother. I am a highly qualified person and hence understand the importance of my role while my minor son is preparing for board exams. It is a make-or-break year for my son from an educational perspective. I fear my absence might have a negative impact on him. Therefore, I request you consider my bail request,” it added
