This important decision was made during a meeting of the Collegium on February 20. The lawyers who have been chosen for this honorable position are:
(i) Alok Kumar Sinha;
(ii) Ritesh Kumar;
(iii) Soni Shrivastava;
(iv) Sourendra Pandey; and
(v) Ansul @ Anshul Raj.
The Supreme Court plays a very important role in selecting judges for different High Courts across the country. The process of appointing judges is done through the Collegium system, where senior judges of the Supreme Court decide on the names of the most suitable lawyers to be promoted as High Court judges.

In this case, the Collegium met on February 20 and after deep discussions and consideration, it decided to recommend these five advocates for the Patna High Court judgeship. This recommendation now moves forward for further approval by the government and the President of India before the appointment is finalized.
