This important decision was made during a meeting of the Collegium on February 25.
The names of the lawyers recommended for the judge’s post are:
- Smita Das De
- Reetobroto Kumar Mitra
- Md Talay Masood Siddiqui
- Krishnaraj Thaker
- Om Narayan Rai

As of February 1, the Calcutta High Court has “43 judges” working, while its total approved strength is “72 judges.”
This means there are “29 vacancies” in the High Court that need to be filled.
