Mumbai: Today (25th June): The Bombay High Court ordered the immediate release of the teenager accused in the Pune Porsche accident case. The incident, which occurred on May 19, resulted in the deaths of two 24-year-old engineers and led to widespread outrage.

The 17-year-old, son of real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, will now be under his aunt’s care as his parents and grandfather have been arrested for attempting a cover-up.
Initially, the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) granted the teenager bail with a requirement to write a 300-word essay, a decision that drew significant public backlash. The police then requested a review, leading to the boy being remanded to an observation home. Authorities are seeking to have him tried as an adult.
The collision resulted in the deaths of two IT professionals and Ashwini Koshta. According to the police, the minor teen driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
The minor’s parents currently in police custody due to allegations of tampering with his blood samples.
The incident occurred in the early hours of May 19 in Kalyani Nagar, where a Porsche allegedly driven by the 17-year-old crashed into a two-wheeler, killing two IT professionals. The police claimed the juvenile was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
The Police have arrested Naman Bhutada, owner of Cosie Hotel, bar counter manager Sachin Katkar, and Blak club manager Sachin Sangle. These individuals are accused of serving alcohol to a juvenile, who later caused the fatal accident. The father of the juvenile has also been arrested, although he has yet to be presented in court for custody.
The police station registered a case against the juvenile driver under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act, including charges of rash driving and causing death by negligence.

The police have charged the minor with rash and negligent driving and causing harm by endangering life or personal safety under IPC Sections 304A, 279, 337, 338, and 427, along with relevant sections of the Maharashtra Motor Vehicle Act.
CCTV footage revealed the teenager drinking at a pub before the accident, and Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar confirmed that the boy was fully aware of his actions. Subsequently, Vishal Agarwal was arrested for “exposing a child to danger,” and the owners and employees of two bars were detained for serving alcohol to a minor.
