The Delhi High Court has asked police and a private firm to reply to actor Rajpal Yadav’s plea seeking permission to travel to Dubai for a Diwali programme. The matter will be heard again on October 14.

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday, October 10, 2025, asked the Delhi Police and a private company to respond to an application filed by actor Rajpal Yadav. The Bollywood actor has requested permission to travel to Dubai to attend a Diwali programme as part of a pending cheque-bounce case.

Justice Ravinder Dudeja issued notices to both the Delhi Police and Murli Projects Private Limited on the plea and fixed the next date of hearing for October 14.

According to submissions made before the court, Yadav has been invited by Bihari Global Connect to participate in the upcoming Diwali celebrations in Dubai.

His lawyer told the court that the actor has been asked to attend the event as a guest of honour. The counsel also informed that the actor needs to travel abroad between October 17 and October 20 for this programme.

The application was filed in Yadav’s ongoing revision petition before the High Court, where he has challenged his earlier conviction by a trial court in the cheque-bounce case.

It was also brought to the notice of the court that Yadav had been allowed to travel abroad on several occasions in the past as well.

In June last year, the High Court had temporarily suspended Yadav’s conviction in the cheque-bounce matter.

The suspension was granted on the condition that the actor would take “sincere and genuine measures” to explore an amicable settlement with the other party.

At that time, Yadav’s counsel had explained that the cheque dispute arose from a

“genuine transaction to finance the production of a movie, which bombed at the box office, resulting in huge financial losses.”

The lawyer had further highlighted that Yadav had already undergone imprisonment for about three months in other related civil execution proceedings linked to the case.

The matter is now pending before the Delhi High Court Mediation Centre, where efforts are being made to reach a possible settlement between the parties.
