PIL Filed for the Removal Of Kejriwal From CM Post|| Delhi HC

Today (22nd March) A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Delhi High Court seeking the removal of Arvind Kejriwal from the post of Chief Minister. The petition cites his recent arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering case related to an excise policy. The PIL demands explanations from relevant authorities regarding Kejriwal’s authority to hold office and advocates for his dismissal.

NEW DELHI: Today (March 22): A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed before Delhi High Court to remove Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of AAP, from his position as chief minister after his apprehension by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering case associated with the excise policy.

The media within the court disclosed that the petition certain flaws and will be scheduled for a hearing once these issues are rectified.

Surjit Singh Yadav, the petitioner, demands that the Centre, the Delhi government, and the principal secretary to the lieutenant governor furnish explanations regarding the basis on which Kejriwal retains the position of chief minister.

Additionally, Yadav also sought the removal of Kejriwal from his current post.

The petition highlighted Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in relation to the money laundering case linked with an alleged liquor policy scam. It also referenced the Delhi High Court’s decision to withhold interim protection from coercive measures against him in the same case.

Subsequently, the Enforcement Directorate presented Kejriwal before a court and petitioned for 10-day custody. The legal proceedings are currently ongoing.
