The Jharkhand High Court has asked the Enforcement Directorate to submit its response in Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s petition challenging the summons in a land scam case. The matter is likely to be heard again on December 18.
Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Thursday asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to submit its reply in a petition filed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who is challenging the summons issued to him in an alleged land scam case.
An MP-MLA court had earlier issued a summons to Soren, asking him to appear in connection with a case registered by the ED. The summons came after the Chief Minister did not appear for questioning despite earlier notices issued to him.

The High Court said it may hear the matter again on December 18. Meanwhile, it instructed the MP-MLA court to adjust the case proceedings scheduled for December 12.
The court also recorded an undertaking given by Soren that he will appear before the MP-MLA court on December 6.
This development comes as part of ongoing investigations by the Enforcement Directorate into alleged irregularities in land transactions in Jharkhand.
