Narayan Sai Appeals to Gujarat High Court for Permission to Visit Ailing Father Asaram Bapu

Narayan Sai, who claims to be a Messenger of God, has petitioned the Gujarat High Court seeking permission to visit his ailing father, Asaram Bapu. Expressing concern over his father’s critical condition and the possibility of his demise, Narayan Sai pleaded,

“My father is extremely ill, and there’s a possibility he won’t survive. Please allow a son to see his father.”

Asaram Bapu, a controversial religious leader in India, was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in 2018 for raping a minor girl at one of his ashrams in 2013. Additionally, he has faced numerous other allegations of sexual assault and illegal activities. His imprisonment stems from the criminal charges against him related to sexual offenses.

During the hearing, Justices AS Supehia & Vimal Vyas mentioned that the Rajasthan High Court had rejected Asaram Bapu’s parole plea and requested Narayan Sai to provide the order with the reasons mentioned by his father in the plea. Advocate IH Syed, representing Narayan Sai, submitted a certificate from the doctor treating Asaram Bapu at AIIMS, Jodhpur.

The Bench expressed the need to verify the document due to Syed’s history and questioned the necessity of Narayan Sai’s visit if his father is already receiving treatment. Syed clarified that he simply wishes to visit his father at his own expense.

The Bench requested the order from the Rajasthan High Court before proceeding further. Syed requested to move on from the matter and assured the court of promptly providing the order copy.

Asaram Bapu faced multiple charges, including rape, sexual assault, and other criminal offenses. One prominent case against him involved the rape of a minor girl at one of his ashrams in 2013. Additionally, there were allegations of sexual misconduct and exploitation leveled against him by several other individuals. As a result of these charges, Asaram Bapu was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in 2018.
