AJMER, RAJASTHAN: A major news incident has emerged from Ajmer district, Rajasthan, where Justice Anoop Kumar Dhand, Judge of the Jaipur Bench of the Rajasthan High Court, was injured in a road accident on Tuesday night at around 8:30 PM. The accident occurred near a culvert close to Saradhana village, when his official vehicle reportedly lost control and was involved in an accident.
According to official sources, Justice Anoop Kumar Dhand’s driver and Personal Security Officer (PSO) immediately alerted the local authorities following the mishap. Their swift action ensured a prompt emergency response.

Soon after receiving information, Ajmer’s Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), along with other senior judicial and administrative officials, rushed to the spot. District Collector and Superintendent of Police (SP) Ajmer also reached the accident site without delay and supervised rescue operations, ensuring the situation was brought under control and no further complications arose.
Justice Dhand was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Ajmer, where a team of specialist doctors began his medical treatment. Following preliminary examinations, doctors have confirmed that his condition is stable, and he is currently under medical observation.
Hospital authorities stated that further assessments are being carried out as a precautionary measure. Family members and judicial colleagues have expressed relief over his stable condition.
The incident has raised concerns over road safety, especially on highways and rural roads during night travel. An official inquiry has been initiated to determine the exact circumstances that led to the accident, including vehicle condition, road status, and other contributing factors.
About Justice Anoop Kumar Dhand
Justice Anoop Kumar Dhand was elevated as a Judge of the Rajasthan High Court on 18 October 2021. He was enrolled with the Bar Council on 14 January 1995 and practiced for nearly 26 years at the Jaipur Bench of the Rajasthan High Court.
During his long legal career, Justice Dhand primarily handled criminal, service, and miscellaneous legal matters. He has also served as Standing Counsel for several prominent state bodies, including:
- Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO)
- Rajasthan State Road Development Corporation
- Rajasthan Financial Corporation
- Rajasthan Housing Board
- Various universities and educational institutions
Notably, a few years ago, Justice Anoop Kumar Dhand had also met with an accident while paragliding, during his time as a practicing lawyer before the Rajasthan High Court.
