Mumbai: Today (19th July): The Bombay High Court has requested a response from the Maharashtra Government regarding a bail application by Bhavesh Bhide, the director of Ego Media. This company is involved in a case where a hoarding collapsed in Ghatkopar, resulting in 17 deaths.

The incident occurred on May 13, when an Ego Media hoarding fell on a petrol pump, causing 17 deaths and injuring 75 people.

An FIR was filed against Bhide and others under Sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 337 (causing hurt by acts endangering life), 338 (causing grievous hurt), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

Bhide, who was arrested in Udaipur and brought to Mumbai by the Crime Branch Special Investigation Team (SIT), is currently in judicial custody. He has filed a petition in the High Court seeking to quash the FIR and for interim bail while his plea is being considered.
