The arrests followed an investigation where the police had earlier taken into custody several others. Among them was Prasad, a former AIADMK party member, who the police say supplied drugs to actor Srikanth.
Another accused, Kevin, is said to have sold drugs to actor Krishna. The police have also arrested a Ghanaian national named John and another man named Pradeep.
According to the police, Kevin was found with cocaine, “ganja”, methamphetamine, and Rs 45,000 in cash. They claim Krishna not only consumed drugs but also shared them with his friends.
He was also reportedly part of multiple WhatsApp groups where drug-related discussions and planning took place.
