Singh seeking the dismissal of the entire proceedings, including the First Information Report (FIR) and the trial court order that framed charges against him.

The trial court determined that there is sufficient evidence to frame charges against Singh, including charges under Section 506(1) of the IPC for criminal intimidation concerning two of the wrestlers.

Former Assistant Secretary of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), Vinod Tomar, has been charged with criminal intimidation against one of the wrestlers involved in the case.

Six wrestlers initially brought forward sexual harassment allegations against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Following their complaints, the police registered an FIR against the former Member of Parliament.

On June 15, 2023, the police filed a chargesheet against Singh, accusing him of offences under Sections 354 (outraging modesty), 354A (making sexually colored remarks), 354D (stalking), and 506(1) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Earlier, the complainants had petitioned the Supreme Court to ensure the registration of an FIR against Singh. In response, the Delhi Police informed the Supreme Court that an FIR had been registered and that the investigation was proceeding as required.

Additionally, a minor wrestler had also accused Singh of misconduct, but she later withdrew her complaint. Consequently, the Delhi Police filed a cancellation report in that case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act).
