The Gujarat High Court in Ahmedabad got an email claiming RDX was planted inside its premises. Police and bomb squad searched thoroughly but found nothing suspicious.

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court in Ahmedabad received a bomb threat on Monday (September 15, 2025). However, after a complete inspection by the police and bomb squad, officials confirmed that it was only a hoax and nothing dangerous was found inside the court premises.

According to the police, an email was sent on Monday morning to the official email ID of the Gujarat High Court by an unknown person. The email claimed that explosives, including RDX, had been planted inside the court building.

The Gujarat High Court is located on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway in Ahmedabad. Giving details about the incident, Sola police station inspector K.N. Bhukan said,

“Upon learning about the threat from the court officials, local police, along with a dog squad, and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad reached the spot and started scanning all the buildings in the high court premises without disturbing the proceedings.”

Following the alert, police teams conducted a detailed search operation across the entire court complex. The checking was carried out not only inside the courtrooms and offices but also in judges’ chambers, surrounding buildings, and even the vehicles parked inside or entering the premises.

Inspector Bhukan further added that the search operation was carried out with full precaution to ensure safety while ensuring that the normal functioning of the court was not hampered.

After the complete search was concluded, police confirmed that the bomb threat was fake. Nothing suspicious or harmful was found inside or outside the Gujarat High Court.

As Inspector Bhukan stated,

“Nothing suspicious was found in the premises.”

Police authorities have now started efforts to trace the sender of the threatening email. The case has raised serious concerns over the misuse of anonymous emails to spread panic in sensitive institutions like the judiciary.

Security at the Gujarat High Court has also been tightened following the incident, and the cyber cell has been roped in to investigate the source of the mail.

The quick response by the police, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, and the dog squad ensured that the situation remained under control and court proceedings went on smoothly without interruption.

Similar Incident at Delhi High Court

Earlier this year, the Delhi High Court also faced a bomb threat when an email claimed that explosives had been placed within its premises. Security teams, including bomb squads and dog squads, were immediately pressed into action.

After an extensive search operation, it was confirmed that the threat was only a hoax, and no explosive material was found. The police had then registered a case and handed over the investigation to the cyber cell to track down the email sender.

Similar Incident at Bombay High Court

In another incident, the Bombay High Court too had received a threatening email about a bomb being placed inside its premises. The message caused concern, leading to a quick evacuation and inspection by security personnel.

The bomb detection squad carried out a complete sweep of the court premises, vehicles, and chambers.

This threat also turned out to be a hoax, as nothing suspicious was recovered. Authorities later said such repeated hoax threats not only create unnecessary panic but also disturb judicial functioning.
