Ahmedabad, Gujarat – A sudden bomb threat sent through email caused panic at the Gujarat High Court this morning, forcing an immediate lockdown of the entire premises.

Security agencies, including bomb disposal squads and dog units, rushed to the scene and launched a massive search operation. All the gates of the High Court were quickly sealed, halting normal court proceedings and spreading tension among everyone present.

The email containing the threat was sent anonymously to the official email ID of the Gujarat High Court. Authorities wasted no time in launching an investigation.

Confirming the situation, DCP Safin Hasan, in-charge of Zone 1, said, “A bomb threat has been received on the High Court’s email, which is being investigated.”

He further added, “The High Court gates are currently closed, and police are conducting a thorough investigation. We are also actively working to trace the person who sent this email.”

This incident is the latest in a series of bomb threat cases across Gujarat in recent weeks. While most of these have turned out to be fake alarms, affecting schools, government offices, and other public institutions, the police continue to treat each case with full seriousness to ensure public safety.

Despite the growing suspicion that this could also be a hoax, authorities are leaving nothing to chance. The primary focus remains on the safety of everyone inside the High Court building and finding the person responsible for the alarming message. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be shared once available.

Eyewitnesses at the High Court described how the situation changed rapidly once the news of the threat became public.

According to media reports, “A lawyer who was on his way into the court shared his experience, saying, “I was just about to enter the court for a hearing when suddenly all the gates were closed.”

Speaking on condition of anonymity, he expressed concern, “It’s unsettling to think that such a threat could target a place like the High Court. We hope it’s a hoax, but the police response is certainly reassuring.”

Within a few minutes of the alert being raised, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Team (BDDT) and fire department vehicles arrived at the scene. Gate Number 5, which is mainly used by court staff, was the first to be completely shut down. All vehicles coming in or out of the court complex were thoroughly checked by the bomb squad and sniffer dogs, showing how seriously the threat was being handled—even though no suspicious object has been found so far.

One High Court employee, speaking from outside the security zone, explained what he saw:

“We saw police officers rushing everywhere, and then the dog squad started checking cars.”

He added, “It’s a scary situation, but they seem to be taking every precaution.”

As of now, no bomb has been found, and the situation is under control. Police continue to investigate the source of the email and are making all efforts to trace the person behind it.
