Punjab and Haryana High Court granted police protection to activist in response to complaint lodged against Elvish Yadav. The Punjab & Haryana High Court recently responded by directing the police to ensure the safety of these activists. This directive came after the Gupta brothers approached the court, fearing for their safety due to the backlash from Yadav and his associates. The court emphasized the need for adequate security measures for the activists, particularly when they appear at the Gurugram Court related to this case.
Elvish Yadav, a prominent YouTube personality, embroiled in a controversial case involving the alleged use of snake venom at rave parties, which attracted significant media attention since last year. The case escalated after a viral video surfaced, showing Yadav allegedly engaging in illegal activities involving snakes. This video captured by animal rights activists Saurabh Gupta and his brother Gaurav Gupta, who subsequently faced threats and sought legal protection.

Elvish Yadav arrested on charges related to the illegal acquisition and distribution of snake venom, which is considered a serious offense under several laws including the Wildlife Protection Act, the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for criminal conspiracy, and laws concerning negligent handling of poisons that endanger human safety. Despite his initial arrest, Yadav granted bail by the Gurugram Court.
The situation began to unfold when the police hesitated to register an FIR against Yadav, prompting the activists to file a complaint directly in the Gurugram Court, citing the Wildlife (Protection) Act of 1972 which prohibits such use of snakes.

The court’s response, led by Justice Jasjit Singh Bedi, also included instructions for handling any threats or issues related to the case, especially those that might arise in Uttar Pradesh, as that is where the threats were reportedly issued.
