This initiative reflects CJI Chandrachud’s personal commitment to Ayurveda and his experience using Ayush remedies during his battle with COVID-19.
Speaking at the inauguration, CJI Chandrachud shared his firsthand experience with Ayush during his COVID-19 recovery, highlighting a conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“I have been associated with the work of Ayush since Covid broke. I had a really bad attack of Covid, and the Prime Minister called me up and said, ‘I believe that you are down with Covid, and I hope everything is fine. I realize that you are not in good shape but we’ll do everything,”
-recalled Chandrachud.
He further quoted PM Modi, saying-
“There is a Vaidya who is also a secretary at Ayush, and I’ll arrange a call with him, and he’ll send you medicine and all.” Chandrachud affirmed that he relied on Ayush medicine during his COVID recovery, mentioning, “The second and third times when I had Covid, I didn’t take any allopathic medicine at all.”
Expressing his satisfaction with the inauguration of the Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre, CJI Chandrachud emphasized the significance of embracing a holistic lifestyle.
“I have been working on this ever since I took over as CJI. We have over 2000 staff members, and we must look at a holistic pattern of living, not just for the judges and their immediate families but for the staff members too,”
– he remarked.
He continued-
“I am happy that the facility now comes to the Supreme Court, and I believe, through us, we will be able to spread the message of Ayurveda across the country and beyond.”
This underscores CJI Chandrachud’s commitment to promoting Ayurveda not only within the legal community but also on a broader national scale.
