NEW DELHI: At least ten law graduates from premier legal institutions across the country have successfully cracked the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2024, demonstrating the increasing trend of legal professionals making their mark in India’s most prestigious competitive exam.

Among the top achievers is Kshitij Sharma, a corporate lawyer from Madhya Pradesh and an alumnus of the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad. Kshitij has secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) 58 this year, marking a significant jump from his previous performance in UPSC 2023, where he had attained AIR 384. His consistent dedication and legal acumen have clearly paid off.

Moksh Ranawat, who graduated in 2022 from Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Pune, has secured AIR 251, showcasing the strong foundation provided by private law schools in preparing candidates for civil services.

From the Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia, Mohammed Haris Mir, also a 2022 graduate, earned AIR 314, reflecting the growing contribution of traditional legal institutions to civil services.

Rhythm Kataria, a 2022 graduate of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU), Lucknow, secured AIR 370, further highlighting the success of recent law graduates in cracking one of India’s toughest examinations.

UPSC

Devansh Saraswat, from the 2021 batch of Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar, achieved AIR 374, emphasizing that even relatively recent graduates are making significant inroads into the civil services.

Isha Rani, who completed her law degree in 2020 from Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna, has secured AIR 384. Her success underscores how a few years of professional experience can complement academic grounding in law to enhance UPSC performance.

From the same institution as Moksh, Rupal Jaiswal, a 2020 graduate of Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Pune, has secured AIR 512, indicating a strong tradition of UPSC aspirants emerging from SLS.

Hailing from Nanded, Maharashtra, Ayush Kokate, a 2023 graduate of Indian Law Society’s (ILS) Law College, Pune, secured AIR 513, proving that even fresh graduates can make a mark with focused preparation.

Manav Dhanetiya, a 2022 graduate from National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi), achieved AIR 514. Notably, this marks an improvement from his previous attempt in UPSC 2022, where he had secured AIR 734, reflecting determination and steady progress.

Lastly, Namrata Jeph, a 2023 graduate from National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ), has secured AIR 743, further contributing to the growing list of legal professionals entering India’s administrative services.

This strong representation of law graduates in UPSC 2024 not only highlights their analytical and interpretative strengths but also reaffirms the relevance of legal education in the domain of public policy and governance.
