The Calcutta High Court has asked the State’s law officers to press for a vexatious litigation law and directed that a frequent litigant’s PIL-like petitions first go before the appropriate Bench.
The Supreme Court of India noted a worrying rise in women allegedly misusing dowry, domestic violence, and POCSO laws by filing frivolous complaints, overshadowing genuine cases and using false accusations to pressure husbands and in-laws for settlements unfairly.
Today, On 13th June, The Supreme Court dismissed a petition challenging Mukesh Ambani’s Z-plus security cover, calling the plea “frivolous & vexatious.” The Court made it clear that such petitions waste judicial time and serve no public interest.
