NEW DELHI: 5th May: On Monday, the Supreme Court of India dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) that asked the Union Home Ministry and all State governments to take strong safety measures for tourists visiting hill stations and remote areas.
A writ petition filed in the Supreme Court of India by Advocate Vishal Tiwari seeks improved safety for tourists in terrorism-affected hilly areas. The petition requests enhanced security measures, medical facilities, and safety awareness programs, particularly for the Amarnath Yatra and other remote sites. The hearing is set for 5th May 2025.
