The Supreme Court has stayed proceedings against Tamil Nadu Minister I Periyasamy and his family in a Rs 2.1 crore disproportionate assets case. The top court also issued a notice, pausing the trial ordered by the Madras High Court.

The Madras High Court overturned a special court’s decision, reviving a case against Tamil Nadu’s Minister I Periyasamy for unauthorized land distribution. He is now instructed to stand trial in connection to allegations of improperly allocating land during his tenure as Housing Minister. Despite previous efforts to dismiss the charges, the judiciary has consistently upheld the legal proceedings.
