Madras High Court Justice GR Swaminathan G.R. He said he respects court orders unlike those officials, stressing accountability within the Madras High Court system today.
The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court suggested that the Tamil Nadu government allow five persons named by the Court to offer symbolic prayers for 15 minutes near the Deepathoon atop Thiruparankundram hill. The Court clarified that the proposal is only a suggestion, not a direction, amid the Karthigai Deepam contempt proceedings.
Justice GR Swaminathan questioned Senior Advocate Vikas Singh over reported remarks suggesting the judge had political ambitions during the Thiruparankundram lamp-lighting contempt hearing. The Madras High Court also sought an explanation from the State Chief Secretary over alleged non-compliance with court orders.
