Today, On 27th October, The Madras High Court directed the Tamil Nadu government to frame a standard operating procedure within 10 days for holding political rallies. The Court clarified that its order will not restrict permissions for meetings outside highways.
The CBI has taken charge of the Karur stampede investigation that claimed 41 lives during Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam rally. The Supreme Court has ordered an impartial probe under a panel led by ex-Justice Ajay Rastogi.

The Madras High Court has refused to restrain actor Vijay’s party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) from using its yellow-maroon flag. The court said it is prima facie not convinced of any trademark or copyright infringement as claimed by a Chennai trust.
