New Delhi– The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has allowed Christian Michel James, an accused in the AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal case, to apply for a new passport. This direction was issued to the jail authorities on Tuesday to help Michel fulfil the bail conditions set by the court.
NEW DELHI: Today, 4th March, British national Christian Michel has been granted bail by the Delhi High Court in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) money laundering case related to the AgustaWestland VVIP chopper scam.
Azam Khan and his son, Abdullah Azam Khan, will remain in jail even after securing bail from the Supreme Court. Legal hurdles are preventing their immediate release. The father-son duo is facing multiple cases, complicating their legal battle. Their continued detention has sparked political discussions.
The Enforcement Directorate has implicated K Kavitha and AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, in a corruption case linked to a Rs.100 crore payment related to Delhi’s liquor policy. Delhi’s Lt. Governor has recommended prosecuting Kejriwal, raising political tensions as the case continues with upcoming hearings and investigations into alleged irregularities.
The Delhi High Court, on Monday (2nd Dec) led by Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri, will hear former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s plea against the ED’s charges on December 20. Sisodia argues that the charges lack prior sanction under CrPC due to his public servant status, echoing the Supreme Court’s ruling that requires such approval for prosecution.
