Today, On 9th January, Rouse Avenue court has formally framed corruption and criminal conspiracy charges against Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav and several other accused, marking a major development in the high-profile Railway land-for-jobs case.
A Delhi court rejected Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi’s request to halt day-to-day hearings in the IRCTC scam case, citing Supreme Court orders for speedy trials of MPs and MLAs. The case involves alleged bribes of land and shares for hotel contracts during Yadav’s tenure as Railway Minister.
Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi have asked a Delhi court to stop daily hearings in the IRCTC scam case, citing multiple pending trials and ongoing election duties. The CBI opposed the plea, stressing Supreme Court’s directive for speedy trials of MPs and MLAs.
In the IRCTC scam case, a Delhi court slammed Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav, stating they “engaged in conspiracy and abused their position as public servants” while framing charges of corruption and criminal conspiracy.
