The Allahabad High Court has ordered an inquiry after a caesarean section was performed on a minor rape survivor even though the Court had directed the termination of her pregnancy. Holding the doctors prima facie guilty of ‘deliberate negligence’ for not complying with its order, the Court said they had ‘played with the life of a rape victim’, and directed the Uttar Pradesh Principal Secretary (Medical and Health) to inquire and report within two weeks.
