Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw told a Mumbai court that Sapna Gill’s plea against him is “false, frivolous, vexatious” and filed to malign his image and gain publicity. Shaw claimed the complaint is a counterblast to the 2023 FIR against Gill following a pub brawl incident.
A Mumbai sessions court has set aside the summons issued to former cricketer Robin Uthappa in a 2019 cheque bounce case, citing a mandatory inquiry under Section 202 CrPC was not conducted. The matter is now sent back to the trial court for fresh proceedings.

NEW DELHI: A defamation case against journalists of Times of India (ToI) and Economic Times (ET) has been quashed by the Supreme Court. Earlier, the Karnataka High Court dismissed the case against Bennett Coleman & Co. (the publisher of ToI). However, it refused to dismiss the case against individual journalists, leaving them to face legal proceedings.
