AAP MP Sanjay Singh has challenged the UP government’s move to shut 105 primary schools, calling it unconstitutional and violative of the RTE Act. The petition cites safety, access, and fundamental rights concerns for marginalised children.
On 17th May, The Delhi Police responded to bomb threat concerns in schools by deploying bomb disposal squads and detection teams, conducting 120 mock drills, and issuing comprehensive guidelines. They have a total of 5 bomb disposal squads and 18 bomb detection teams to cover over 4,600 schools. The Directorate of Education is also actively involved in promoting school safety.
