Today, On 27th January, The Supreme Court on refused to entertain a petition challenging the ‘VIP Darshan’ system at Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple, stating it is not for the Court to decide. The bench said such temple management issues fall outside its judicial domain.
The Delhi High Court ruled that the Jain Sabha Dharmarth Trust must keep the idol seat for Devi Padmavati vacant after renovations, emphasizing the importance of faith and long-standing worship traditions. The idol, moved during renovations, cannot be replaced with another, and its current location must continue to accommodate rituals until further hearings.
