The Delhi High Court stayed trial court proceedings against Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Kanimozhi, A Raja and others in the UGC draft guidelines protest case. The Court also issued notice to Delhi Police on a plea seeking quashing of the FIR, with the next hearing on August 12.
The Enforcement Directorate has submitted prosecution sanction against former Finance Minister P Chidambaram before the Rouse Avenue Special Court in the INX Media money laundering case. The move follows the Supreme Court’s ruling making sanction mandatory for prosecuting public servants under PMLA.

Special Judge Vishal Gogne cited conspiracy, cheating, and corruption offences, directing personal appearances and rejecting video conferencing without court permission.
