New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India has agreed to hear on April 2 a plea filed by the Karnataka government challenging the bail granted by the Karnataka High Court to Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, actress Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others in the Renukaswamy murder case.
Today, On 24th January, The Supreme Court issued a notice to Darshan in response to Karnataka’s appeal challenging his bail in the Renukawsmy murder case. The Karnataka High Court had granted regular bail to Darshan, Pavithra, and five other accused on December 13, 2024. The state government has questioned the decision, seeking its reversal. The case will now be reviewed by the apex court for further consideration.

Yesterday, On 22nd June, Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, along with three others, was remanded to judicial custody until July 4 in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a fan of the actor. Allegedly, Darshan enlisted a fan club member to carry out the murder. The case continues to unfold, with 17 individuals implicated in the murder.
